Today’s actually my first day at the new office. I’d spent the last month or so transitioning stuff at the PCIJ while doing editing work after hours for InterAksyon.com, which explains the lack of updates here in the blog. We’re working on a nice new version of the sports site, so I’ll probably still be busy, but once that is done and things settle down, I will: 1) be writing a lot more stuff for the TV5 site; and 2) I’ll still be posting regularly on Fire Quinito. You can hold me to that promise.

For now, check out our wall-to-wall coverage on InterAksyon.com on the Azkals. I’m proud of our output, by the way, and I’d put it up against the work of any other media outlet that also covered the series against Sri Lanka. I filed three stories yesterday:

great articles jae! i'd say it's even better than other news outlets (azkals are on my google alerts so i can compare hehe). you're also the only one who's done really good background research on kuwait. is roy moore among your contributors? he's turning out to be the rafeboogs of local football..hehe.

yeah, Roy also filed a couple of reports for us from Colombo.

re: the Rafeboogs-Roymondous comparison... i think that's racist. hahahaha.

mas makaka swerte tayo d2 sa fifa 2014 world cup qualifiers unlike sa olympic qualifier bid ng Gilas medyo hirap talaga dahil sa size disadvantage....baka dito sa football mabawian natin ang ibang middle eastern powerhouse like Qatar and Iran ....pero kailangan makalusot muna ang Azkals sa agregate scoring sa teritoryo ng Kuwait.

Serbian pala coach ng Kuwait pwede hingin tulong ni Toroman sa mga kakilala nyang football coach sa Serbia para ma scout ang game plan ng Serbian coach ng Kuwait...

I just read on huffingtonpost that the Kuwaiti team had a brawl with Lebanon in a not-so-friendly match. Sana may ma-suspend sa starters nila para humina ng bahagya pag laban ng Azkals. hehehe

BTW, the Kuwaitis beat the snot out of the Lebanese 6-0. Yikes!!!

Jae, paki check naman kung meron ngang suspensions.

Are the Azkals for real? i do believe so. Though over-hyped since their Suzuki cup exposure, the team is so inspired through tremendously and growing following. One added factor is that many cage fans who'se gone tired of RP5's continuous failures shifted attention and rave on another team-sport, football. Very healthy development for our national sports cause.
Like boxing, there's better hope on football for international achievement than basketball.
