Update: Fixed the download link so you can get the latest episode. Sorry!

With the PBA Govenors' Cup moving along slower than Joe Devance, Chuck Araneta, Polo Bustamante and Carlo Pamintuan shift their attention to the upcoming collegiate tourneys: the NCAA and UAAP! Sit with us on the stands as we discuss each of the fortunes of the aspiring teams,as well as some of the players who will be making an impact, for better or for worse, in the upcoming seasons. Don't be fooled by the intro, this is definitely episode 18 of From The Stands!

Click on the player to listen, or download the file, or subscribe to it on iTunes or on RSS. And leave a comment, the From the Stands boys just might discuss them in the next episode, or even invite you to come along.

this was disproved by Olivares in his column in Rebound. I think I mentioned this in one of my comments too. it's a matter or perception. college basketball can only reach its intended audience: schools and alumni. i'm sure the collegiate leagues aren't as hit in the provinces compared to THE pro-league.

my only beef right now though is that the PBA is forced to change its schedule just because ABS-CBN sports is producing the games on their "home" station, compared to PBA under Solar. hindi talaga pwede mag-exist ang PBA and collegiate leagues in one channel only. kasalanan ng sri-lankan yan.

I agree too that this Governor's cup is a bit dragging. Maybe i'm just used to watching two-conference format over the past years. the idea isn't bad, but more games = more chances for championships = more ticket sales.

i wonder kung paano i-tetelevise yung games ng pba. as far as i know ang UAAP, every thursday, saturday, and sunday. so ang sunday games ba ng PBA apektado?
#5.1 Carlo on 2011-07-07 10:37 (Reply)
PBA games that coincide with UAAP/NCAA games will be aired on a progressive delay basis. The first game of the PBA will start on time and it will start airing after the UAAP/NCAA games are done. The PBA games will extend their halftime break and so the idea is to be airing live at the start of the second half of the first game.
