From the Stands: A legacy of Alaska trades, and Smart Gilas rules

Bmeg gets JDV, Canaleta and Salvador go to Air21. Hmmm ...let's discuss.
Devance owns one of the deepest caches of offensive skillsets in the league. He is a deadshot from way out, can handle the ball despite his size, has the court vision to pass open teammates, and is a pretty damn good finisher. Not much of a defensive presence, but he is big enough to bother shots just by simply raising his arms. His extensive array of offensive weapons makes him a matchup headache. He does have the reputation of "disappearing" though when the going gets tough.
Canaleta, a hot-and-cold scorer (mostly cold) who loves chucking ill-advised threes and awful off-blanced outside bricks. He's too slow-footed to keep up with smaller more agile guards and small forwards, and lacks the muscle mass to bang with burlier power forwards and centers. He can swat away shots on occasion, but nowehere near as good as NoyB or RicoM.
Salvador is a gimpy-legged undersized PF/C with limited offense. Although his heft and girth are his biggest assets (no pun intended), they also serve as his achilles heel. It's not easy lugging that kind of weight around. His considerable heft and bulk has been murder on his knees resulting in poor mobility and repeated injuries.
Fair?

Wala eh. SMC needs a team that'll matchup with TnT. San Miguel triedbut failed horribly in the All-Filipino. Ginebra tried last confy and had their asses unceremoniously handed to them with nary a whimper. This coming confy, Bmeg naman daw to foil the 3peat.
All is fair in love and war.

about the alaska trades - say what you will about them getting poor players pero they find ways to make their roster competative.
jay-r reyes must prove worthy of devance's 30mpg because if he doesn't, i think alaska needs to reap the benefits of the development of sam eman.
