hi everyone, there seems to be a problem with the first part of the podcast, i think the first part I muted. Sorry, will fix it tonight!
Chuck, pakibilisan ha. I miss listening to your conio voices pa naman. :-))
The background music intro has similarities to a church song. "purihin ang panginoon, umawit ng kagalakan. At tugtugin ang gitara at ang kaaya-ayahang hirang." Parang ganun. hehehe.
that's "Pomp and Circumstance" - pang-graduation march hehe. "Macho Man" Randy Savage's theme in WWF. Died less than 24 hours ago. Sad day for WWF fans.

1. I'm with you guys finding Carey's tweet as selfish and unpatriotic. I'm a fan of his intensity on the boards (like Hatfield), pero that infamous tweet ruined it.
2. handicapping system and the draft lottery - if they observed the draft lottery "rules", then Barako Bull could have wound up Rabeh last year and not perennial pickers Air21. The lowest seeded team last year got... *drumroll* Borgy Hermida at the *drumroll* second round. Ginebra managed to nab Aquino in 1996 after a 5-25 1995 season but it doesn't work that way nowadays. Handicapping is not really perfect, but we have to level the playing field somehow. Even my team, Ginebra, is at the short end of this handicapping rule. They heavily relied on Brumfield, and with lack of big men, they're forced to do with another 6'2" guard to add to their security agency.
I guess handicapping with varying import heights is better than allowing two imports to suit up for the lowest seeded team. UTex was awarded with that advantage the late 70s and they won a championship thanks to two imports.

Great point about Kelly being traded to TNT for the purposes of him being on the national team. A lot of people (myself included) had forgotten about that.
