Gerald Anderson to play in PBA D-League?

Gerald Anderson D-League

Snow Badua is reporting on Twitter that ABS-CBN actor Gerald Anderson just might be making an appearance soon in the PBA Developmental League. NLEX team coach Boyet Fernandez told Badua that the Catch Me, I’m in Love star has been practicing with the team for the last three days, although he hasn’t been included yet in the lineup. Fernandez is impressed with the former Tayong Dalawa leading man’s defense. “He can pressure the point guard of the opposing team,” Fernandez said, although it’s unclear if the opposing ball-handler is really pressured by Anderson’s defense or he’s just distracted by the actor’s dreamy eyes (which is, incidentally, the question we all ask about Chris Tiu’s tough defense).

NLEX forward Ogie Menor confirms the same news. “Has a nice outside shot, but needs to learn plays,” Menor told Mico Halili.

I imagine it would be a boon for the fledgling D-League to have Kim Chiu’s onscreen partner, even if it’s just a novelty act, if only for the Kimerald fans that will be trooping to the arenas to watch their favorite actor play. Those fans are intense; when reports surfaced that Anderson had begun dating actress Bea Alonzo instead of Chiu, they threatened to throw acid in Alonzo’s face AND kill Anderson. I’m afraid for what they’ll do to Kojak Melegrito if the “power point” tries to post up their idol.

sige na nga, isali na yan para madagdagan ng fans ang d-league. lol

or is it just another move on the part of ABS-CBN group?

He can actually play, i had the chance to play with him sa vista real, sinira nga yung ring dun sinabitan eh. haha

Yep, second that. Even while he was on PBB, talk about his Hoops from back in GenSan had already been circulating. And in "Tayong Dalawa", from the clips of them playing basketball, it was clear that he really had game. He's definitely no James Yap or Mac Cardona, but he has enough skills to make the league. Coach Boyet Fernandez was right in saying that the bigger concern is not whether Gerald can crack the lineup but rather if he will really be committed to the team.

Labo ng mata ko, basa ko.. Coach Me, I'm in Love star.. kaya pala sa station id.. nagbabasketball si mokong, dumunk pa. Standard ring ba yung sinira nya, xioty? hehe

Tama lang yan.. dadami na naman manunuod sa laro.. just like old days.. dadami mga "feeling girls" na manunuod..tuwang tuwa ang PBA.. added income! hehe

"Coach Me, I'm in Love" -- parang pelikula ni Coach Ryan at Mac Cardona yun ah.

Pre.. Saving Ryan's Private yun kay macmac at kay RG.. hehehe

I pity the player who will guard him. Baka konting foul, magwala ang Geraldnatics (which is actually scarier than the Kimeralds.) They once sent letters to columnists saying that they'll kill Sarah Geronimo unless she stops using Gerald Anderson.

Just bought Baller. And yep pwede ang "Coach Me, I'm in Love" sa mga coverboys nito :D

ano sasabihin ni AngelicaP? "lahat na lang pede mag basketball?"
#7 AngMiron on 2011-03-31 17:25 (Reply)
Gerald Anderson was once a varsity player for one of the high schools in the CdO area. I think he would've gone on to the Manila leagues had he not been picked for PBB.
