I was tasked to write about officiating, and I ended up discussing three of the most dastardly officials in memory: the NBA’s Tim Donaghy, who was caught by the FBI betting on games he called in 2007; football’s Byron Moreno, who made several spurious calls during the controversial 2002 World Cup match between Italy and South Korea; and Danny Davis, who cost the British Bulldogs the world title against the Hart Foundation in 1987.



Btw, I like how my contributor’s photo, which is a cropped webcam shot I use for my Facebook profile, stands side by side with all these vanity headshots of everyone else.
