James Yap finally spoke about the issue surrounding his marriage with Kris Aquino. In a brief chat with Ricky Lo, Yap denied everything. EVERYTHING.

“I’ve never cheated on Kris,” insisted James. “I have never been unfaithful. Ang ganda na ng wife ko, bakit hahanap pa ako ng iba?”

Pressed about the long-buried issue involving one Hope Centeno, James said that what was reported in the media never happened. It was a “campaign of hate” initiated by some people who wanted to hit Dr. Vicki Belo using Kris, then heavy with James Jr. (whom she almost lost), as “weapon.”

James’s strategy reminds me of words of advice from my boss in my first job out of college. He took me and my fellow fresh graduates aside during a night out, and told us about the three golden rules:

RULE #1: ‘Wag na ‘wag kang magpapahuli
RULE #2: Kung nahuli ka, ‘wag na ‘wag kang aamin
RULE #3: Kung umamin ka, ‘wag na ‘wag kang mandadamay

As a Purefoods fan, I just wish that James Yap’s defensive effort is always this air-tight during games.

Meanwhile, as #TeamKris zealots rage on over at Twitter, writer Angela Stuart-Santiago, who is not a big Kris Aquino fan, makes a very interesting point, in defense of James. She argues that James was caught between a rock and a hard place:

my first reaction upon hearing kris’s story was : okay, what if di sinagot ni james ang ringing celfone, would that have made a difference? i doubt it. i can imagine an alternative script : kris demanding to know (immediately or later), why dont/didnt you answer? who’s calling ba, why is she calling you, why not answer it and tell her to stop calling, what’s going on ba, if you don’t answer it i will. ang bottom line : james was damned if he did, damned if he didn’t.

And finally, an anonymous commenter left a link claming that the woman in the middle of this photo is Mayen Austria. I could neither confirm nor deny this, but looking around the other pictures in the Multiply account brings up photos of very yummy-looking cupcakes.

For me, all of these problems would have been avoided if James just stuck to eating cakes from Goldilocks, like in this video:
