Boxing mop-up: The Krista Ranillo edition

Fire Quinito rounds up the... oh who am I kidding? The issue involving Manny Pacquiao, his wife Jinkee, and Wapakman co-star Krista Ranillo is turning out to be a tougher hurdle for the pound-for-pound champ than his fight with Miguel Cotto.

Beth Celis, Philippine Daily Inquirer: “By neither confirming nor denying the reports, a source—who is often seen with the Pinoy ring icon—said Manny gave himself away. 'Not only does she [Krista] wipe his face and body during workouts, she also feeds him like a baby during mealtimes,' said the well-informed source. 'They’re saying that it’s Manny’s brother Bobby, known to be a chickboy, who’s romantically involved with Krista, but I don’t believe this. Bobby’s wife is as ferocious as a tiger. I saw him hit Bobby with a chair once at the L&M Gym, where he worked out, in a fit of jealousy. No, it couldn’t be Bobby.’“

Alex Valentin Brosas, Manila Bulletin: “Meanwhile, on ‘TV Patrol World,’a report said that Manny only gave the American press five minutes to interview him after his bout with Cotto; this, despite the press having waited for him for four hours. More, the media were told before the interview not to ask anything about Manny’s private life. The report added that Krista’s supposed guest appearance on several shows in the area were cancelled because of Manny’s directive about discussing his private life in public. The ‘TV Patrol World’ segment pointed out that Jinkee was not spotted at Manny’s victory concert held two hours after his match with Cotto.”

Reyma Buan-Deveza, ABS-CBNNews.com: “[Gina] Alajar was dragged into the issue after she posted a controversial shout out in her Facebook account in connection with the alleged Pacquiao-Ranillo affair. She wrote: “If I were Jinkee Pacquiao, I would not give up Manny. Krista Ranillo is not at all worth it!” In 2001, reports said Alajar and former husband Michael de Mesa ended their marriage supposedly because of the actor’s alleged love affair with Ranillo, who is a current columnist for men’s magazine Maxim.”

Pacquiao fighting Cotto with this floating around, shows how much concentration he has on the ring. it could also be one of the factors why he won . . . with Cotto on the receiving end.

Let us just leave Manny's private life alone. It's not as if all men are loyal to their spouses. He's just famous and that's why he's all over the news. Tama na paghuhugas ng kamay. The important thing is he brought pride again to the filipino people. What ever lavish lifestyle he has today is a product of his youth. Being moral or immoral is overrated for me because the line that divides will always be vague.

You can't tell people to leave his personal life alone--he has it coming. He's the greatest boxer in the world, and his family is stepping into the limelight by choice as well (eg Mommy Dionesia and Jinkee), and he's out making movies and having concerts, so he's not exactly the most private of people. All the more it should be scrutinized because he is getting into the political arena, so more than being a sports icon, he is going to be a person who will be governing people, should he win.

Having new-found fame and fortune does not make being a cheater right in anyway--you think about Pacquiao reaping the rewards of years of excruciating hardship and painful training, but you are forgetting that he has kids who are dragged and wife in pain seeing all this. Now, THAT is hypocrytical, Marvin.

Yes, he makes us all proud and all, but it never makes what he is doing right, in any way.

'Nuf said.

maybe its ok for Marvin that his sister or mother or his daughter to be enjoyed other men.

Memo to both Duh and wapak. He doesn't care about you and he'll never will. Why are you both so affected? Ok if I place myself into your frame of thought. Then we should hate on Jose Rizal because he was the most famous filipino womanizer of our time (go to the library and read books about him if you want) he even had a serious relationship with his 1st cousin for god's sake. Remember he is our national hero but he didn't even want independence (a common misconception since Andres Bonifacio was the one who really wanted it) he wanted assimilation from the spanish government and now your telling me that I'm hypocritical. Check your facts first. Even read the Bible's Old Testament if you like and you'll find out that even Noah and Abraham had lots of wives. This is a joke that we are even arguing about this while you can't even reveal your first names. Shame on you haters. Just shame.

How morally right, Marvin.

Bravo!
